    Nissan, Mercedes’ Mexican joint venture cuts production in half

    NEW YORK – Nissan Motor Co. has cut production at its joint venture plant with Mercedes-Benz Group in Mexico by about 50% as sales of Japanese automaker Infiniti’s luxury cars slump in the United States.

    The plant, located in the central Mexican state of Aguascalientes, produces luxury vehicles for the U.S. market, including Infiniti sport utility vehicles.
